communication
Communication is the process of signal transfer which alters consciousness.
Since human consciousness emerges most directly from the dynamic transitional
and relational signal transfer patterns of neurons in the brain, human
communication occurs when signal transmission alters the dynamic, transitional
and relational signal transfer patterns of neurons in the human brain.
Now the nervous system
is clearly a physical structure. It interacts with other physical structures in
strict accordance with the immutable laws of chemistry and physics.
Consciousness, on the other hand, does not directly interact with either
physical matter or the consciousness of other systems. For this reason, all
communication must be expressed as physical signals.
When
different nervous systems are similarly "attuned," they tend to respond to
similar signals in similar ways. This phenomenon can create the illusion of
direct communication between minds. The illusion is so strong they even have a
name for it. They call it telepathy. A recent New York Times poll found 57% of
Americans believed.... |
